How to transfer assets from MetaMask to a centralized exchange
If you have crypto or other assets in a centralized exchange, you can move them to MetaMask by following our guide here.
Have assets in MetaMask that you want to transfer to a centralized exchange like Coinbase?
If your country is supported, you can sell crypto directly in MetaMask. To learn how, check out our guide here. If your region is not supported or you'd prefer alternative methods for selling, you can transfer your assets to a centralized exchange (CEX) of your choice.
Before you start:
Your region is supported by the CEX
The asset you want to send is supported by the CEX
The token's network is supported by the CEX
If any of the three points above are not true, you will not be able to transfer your asset to the CEX, and should stop before you lose funds. For example, while a CEX may accept ETH on the Ethereum network, it might not support ETH transferred from the Linea network. If you send ETH on Linea, you may lose your funds.
If all three are true, you can start your transfer by following these steps:
-
Find your CEX public address. Make sure this address is on the correct network. For help with this, contact the CEX's support.
-
Open MetaMask and click 'Send'. Enter the public address from step 1 in the 'To' field.
-
Select the correct asset and enter the amount you want to send.
-
Confirm the details of your transaction.
All done! Your assets should shortly appear in the CEX account. You can check the status of your transaction on a blockchain explorer like Etherscan.
