カスタムネットワーク情報を検証する

When a website requests that you add a custom network to MetaMask, you are presented with the information MetaMask will use to interact with the network. MetaMask performs some basic validation of this information, and will warn you if anything seems wrong or unusual. また、MetaMaskでは、同じネットワークを複数回追加できないようになっています。 ただし、MetaMaskはカスタムネットワーク自体の検証を行いません。また、MetaMaskによる確認で問題がなかったとしても、ネットワークが悪意のあるものであったり、要求元のWebサイトが誤った情報を伝えている可能性もあります。

トランザクションを行うイーサリアムアドレスの検証がユーザーの責任であるように、MetaMaskに追加するカスタムネットワークの検証も自己責任となります。 この記事では、検証する方法についていくつかのアドバイスを紹介します。

Webサイトがカスタムネットワークを追加するように要求した場合、MetaMaskは次の承認画面を表示します:

• Extension
• Mobile

This confirmation shows the network information that the website provided. この情報が正確であるという保証はありません。 従って、その情報は、Webサイトを信用するのと同程度しか信用できません。

If you click “View all details” in the confirmation, you can see all of the network information provided by the website, which includes:

• Network Name: The name that MetaMask will associate with the network.
• Network URL: The URL that MetaMask will use to access the network.
• Chain ID: The chain ID that MetaMask will use to sign transactions for the network.
• Currency Symbol: The currency symbol that MetaMask will use for the network's native currency.
  • 例えば、Ethereumメインネットでは通貨シンボルはETH、Gnosis ChainではシンボルはxDAI (合併後も変更なし) です。
• ブロックエクスプローラーURL (オプション): MetaMaskがアカウントやトランザクションなどを調べるためにダイレクトするURLです。 etherscan.ioと同様のものですが、問題のネットワークに使用されます。

If you are for any reason unsure about the correctness of the network information, we recommend that you take the following steps to verify it:

• Chainlistにアクセスし、提供されたチェーンIDやネットワーク名を検索します。 一部の情報が一致しないとMetaMaskに表示される場合は、Chainlistで問題を特定できるはずです。 カスタムネットワークがChainlistに全く載っていない場合は、そのカスタムネットワークができて間もないものか、質が疑わしい可能性があるかのどちらかです。
• Google the name of the network, and try to answer the following questions. 該当する項目が多ければ多いほど、ネットワークが正当なものであると信じることができます。 特にTelegramには、多くの詐欺や偽のソーシャルメディアチャネルが存在することにご注意ください。
  • Does the network have a website? If so, does it seem legitimate? そのWebサイトにはネットワークの詳細が記されていますか？
  • Does the network have an official Twitter or other social media account? Do they have a lot of followers? Do they seem reputable? What are people saying about the network?
  • Can you identify any of the people who maintain the network? Are they visible on social media? フォロワーは多くいますか ？
  • Are there any news articles about the network?

ほとんどのネットワークは、正当なものかどうか、ウェブサイトが正確な情報を提供しているかどうかが、一目瞭然です。 これらの手順を踏んだうえでまだ確信が持てない場合は、ネットワークの追加要求を拒否し、さらなる調査を行い、後でもう一度試してみましょう。
