What is changing with the IPFS service?
Starting September 1, 2025, all active IPFS subscriptions will be charged a $5 per month minimum payment. If you do not want to be charged the $5 per month, we request you turn off IPFS before September 30, 2025.
What does the $5 per month include?
- 5 GB storage
- 5 GB ingress bandwidth
- 5 GB egress bandwidth
What are the overage charges?
Overage pricing remains the same:
- $0.08 per GB of additional storage
- $0.12 per GB of additional bandwidth (ingress or egress)
When will I see this change on my invoice?
Your first $5 minimum invoice will be generated on October 1, 2025, covering your September usage. Your credit card will be charged between the 1st and 5th of each month.
What happens if my payment fails?
After 15 days, your IPFS service will be disabled. After an additional 30 days, your account and all content will be permanently deleted.
How can I avoid service interruption?
Make sure your payment method is valid and up to date:
- Log in to the MetaMask Developer Dashboard
- Navigate to Settings → Billing → Payment Details
- Add or update your credit card.

How do I turn off IPFS?
If you do not want to be charged the $5 minimum fee for the month of September, you can turn off the IPFS add-on before Sep 30, 2025 by contacting [email protected].
