What countries are eligible to sign up for MetaMask Card?

MetaMask Card is only available in certain regions. For a full list of eligible countries, see here. We’re working hard to bring MetaMask Card to more people; stay tuned for updates!

Is MetaMask Card a credit card?

No, MetaMask Card is not a credit card. It is a debit card that allows you to spend assets directly from your MetaMask wallet. Because it is not a credit card, there is no credit check.

Can I create more than one card?

No, you can only create one MetaMask Card.

Will I get a physical card mailed to me?

MetaMask Metal card is available as a premium option you can opt into. Note that you must order a Metal card to receive one; it will not be automatically sent to you.

Right now, only users in the US can order a Metal card. For more information, check out our guide here.

Are there any annual fees or maintenance fees associated with MetaMask Card?

The Virtual card has no annual fees or maintenance fees associated with MetaMask Card. There is a small fee for each transaction, which you can read more about here.

The Metal card has an annual fee of $199.

Does MetaMask Card report any data to local governments?

MetaMask does not keep or report any data to local governments. We have, however, partnered with vetted providers who hold the necessary regulatory authorizations in the jurisdictions where the card is available. Baanx is the provider of the MetaMask Card, Monovate is the card issuer and Mastercard operates the payment network. Together with their local affiliates, Baanx and Mastercard are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations, including legally-mandated data reporting to local governments.

What are the tax implications of using MetaMask Card?

Spending tokens

Is there a limit to how much I can spend?

What tokens are supported for spending?

For most regions, excluding the US, MetaMask Card supports the following tokens on the following networks:

• Linea: mUSD, USDC, USDT, wETH, EURe, GBPe, aUSDC, and amUSD
• Solana: USDC and USDT
• Base: USDC, USDT, and aBasUSDC

For US users, the following tokens and networks are supported:

• Linea: mUSD, amUSD, USDC, and aUSDC
• Base: USDC, USDT, and aBasUSDC (not currently supported for users in New York and Texas)

We’re working hard to expand support to more tokens.

How can I get aUSDC on Linea?

You shouldn't bridge aUSDC to Linea, as each aToken is specific to the network you are on. For example, if you lend USDC on Linea, you will technically receive aLINUSDC, and if you lend USDC on Ethereum, you will receive aETHUSDC. Both tokens are aUSDC, but they are both instances of aUSDC on a specific network. MetaMask Card spends aLINUSDC.

Instead, you can lend USDC on Linea to receive aUSDC on the same network. You can now lend USDC on Linea directly from MetaMask. See our guide here for more information.

Will using MetaMask Card affect my credit score?

No, using MetaMask Card will not affect your credit score.

Where can I find my card's pin?

To view your card's PIN, head to the 'Manage' tab on your card's web dashboard and click 'View PIN'. A pop-up will appear with your card's four digit PIN code.

Can I spend with MetaMask Card in an ineligible region?

Yes, you can spend with MetaMask Card anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Ineligible regions limit sign-ups, not spending.

Do foreign transaction fees apply when using MetaMask Card?

MetaMask Card currently provides the best foreign exchange rate allowed by MasterCard, and doesn’t charge any additional fees. You can see a breakdown of fees by clicking on a transaction.

Benefits

How do I earn benefits?

You can earn benefits by using your Metal or Virtual card to make purchases.

Metal card transactions earn 3% mUSD back on the first $10,000 spent each year (and 1% thereafter). Metal offers additional benefits, such as travel bookings and other perks. For a full list of Metal benefits, see here.

Virtual card transactions earn 1% mUSD back on all eligible transactions.

How do I claim my cashback rewards?

Navigate to the Card's web dashboard. At the bottom of the 'Overview' tab, you will see a 'mUSD Cashback' section. Click 'Claim' to redeem your mUSD cashback and add them to your account.

Do I need gas to redeem my mUSD cashback?

Yes, you need to pay a small amount of gas to redeem your mUSD cashback, which will be quoted in the transaction confirmation.

Managing your card

How can I request a refund from a transaction?

You should request a refund with the merchant where the transaction took place. If you have issues getting a refund from the merchant, you can request a chargeback from Crypto Life support at [email protected].

I got a refund. Where did the money go?

Refunds are automatically put into your ‘Credits’ balance, which is shown on your card’s homepage. When you make your next transaction, MetaMask Card will first draw upon your credit balance for funds, or you can withdraw the funds to your wallet.

Can I cash out my credit balance?

Yes! On your card's web dashboard, you can choose to 'Claim' a specific amount of the credit balance to your account. The funds will be transferred as mUSD.

My MetaMask Card balance is wrong. How can I fix it?

Your MetaMask Card balance reflects the balance of the highest priority token you have set in ‘Manage.’ For example, if you have delegated 5 USDC and 5 USDT to your card, and set USDC as the number one priority, your card balance will show as 5 USDC.

If your balance is still incorrect, confirm your balance in MetaMask and on Lineascan or another network explorer. If your balance in MetaMask or on Lineascan is different than the balance showing, you should try refreshing the page or contacting Crypto Life for more support at [email protected].

How do I close my MetaMask Card?
