mUSD user guide
mUSD, or MetaMask USD, is the official MetaMask stablecoin. Pegged 1:1 with USD, mUSD offers the stability of the US dollar with the security of MetaMask. mUSD is created in partnership with Bridge and powered by the M0 protocol.
With mUSD, you can earn exclusive rewards, participate in unique promotions, and transact seamlessly without ever leaving MetaMask.
How do I get mUSD?
There are a number of easy ways to get mUSD: converting stablecoins into mUSD, swapping other tokens into mUSD, and buying mUSD.
Convert stablecoins into mUSD
If you already have stablecoins in your MetaMask wallet, you can easily convert them into mUSD, earning up to a 3% mUSD bonus on Mainnet or Linea. To get started, open MetaMask Mobile, version 7.65 or later.
Either click ‘Get mUSD’ in the ‘Tokens’ list, or select an eligible stablecoin, such as USDC, and click ‘Get 3% mUSD bonus’.
From there, enter how much of the selected stablecoin you’d like to convert into mUSD, and click ‘Continue’.
On the next screen, you will see a confirmation screen. Click ‘Convert’ to finalize the transaction.
Once your transaction is finished, you’ll be able to claim a 3% mUSD bonus on Linea. Keep reading for more information.
Note: this feature is not available for users in the United Kingdom.
Claim a 3% bonus
To claim a 3% bonus, you need to update MetaMask Mobile to version 7.66 or later. If this version is not yet available, check back soon.
Earn up to a 3% bonus for converting stablecoins into mUSD on Mainnet or Linea. If you have mUSD, open MetaMask Mobile, and click on mUSD in the ‘Tokens’ tab. From there, click ‘Claim’.
You’ll receive the bonus on Linea. Click ‘Continue’.
On the next screen, you’ll see the details of the bonus. Click ‘Confirm’ to receive your bonus.
Swap
You can swap many tokens and stablecoins into mUSD. To get started, head to the MetaMask Mobile homepage. Click ‘Swap’.
Select the token and network you want to swap from.
In the second field, select mUSD and the network you want to swap to.
Enter the amount of the first token that you want to exchange. This will show you how much mUSD you would receive with that amount.
Once you’re satisfied with the Swap details, click ‘Swap’.
Buy
You can also buy mUSD with cash. From MetaMask Mobile, click ‘Buy’ on the homepage, or from the mUSD tokens detail page.
Select mUSD and the network you’d like to receive the token on, and enter the amount.
Verify which account you’d like to receive the tokens on, and that your region is correct.
Choose your desired payment method.
From there, you’ll be taken to the provider’s platform to complete your purchase, or you will finish your purchase within MetaMask if you’re using Transak.
What can I do with mUSD?
Spend and earn with MetaMask Card
mUSD is the official token of MetaMask Card. For every eligible transaction on MetaMask Card, you’ll earn 1% mUSD cashback, or 3% mUSD cashback with the Metal card.
You can easily fund your card with mUSD on MetaMask Mobile. Simply click the card icon in the top-right of the screen, and click ‘Change Asset’ to set a spending limit for mUSD.

Lend mUSD
You can lend mUSD on Ethereum Mainnet and Linea with Aave’s lending markets for rewards.
When you lend mUSD, your loaned tokens will begin earning rewards daily. The loaned tokens will leave your account until you claim them, and in the meantime, you will receive an equivalent number of amUSD tokens.
Think of amUSD as a receipt for your loaned mUSD. Each amUSD token represents an mUSD token that you loaned at a 1:1 ratio, and returning amUSD allows you to withdraw your loaned mUSD at a 1:1 ratio.
For example, if you lend 100 mUSD, you'll receive 100 amUSD to hold until you're ready to withdraw your loaned mUSD. When you withdraw, you'll enter the amount of amUSD you want to return, such as 50 amUSD, and you'll receive 50 mUSD in return.
As your loaned mUSD earns rewards, the amount of amUSD you hold will automatically increase to reflect the rewards earned.

When you’re ready to stop earning rewards and withdraw your loaned mUSD, you can do so at any time. From the aToken details page, click ‘Withdraw’.
You can see the amount of that token you have loaned; if you’d like to select another token, click the dropdown menu.
